EDIT: This just in, it isn't a shop. It was a gag photo taken to be the punchline for a joke at the White House Correspondents Dinner about engaging our friends and enemies diplomatically. The pirate is Obama's speechwriter Cody Keenan.

Make magazine is all about steampunk this issue

Gillian Anderson will be in the next season of Doctor Who. She'll be playing The Rani, another renegade Time Lord. I guess he can stop crying about being the last of his kind now, since they seem to be popping up all over. Granted, he's only running into the evil ones, but that's all he ever talked to before anyway.

The new Doctor Who special will premier on April 11 at 6:45 GMT. That means a couple hours after that it should be all over the torrent sites!

48 are confirmed dead in Islamabad, Pakistan, arousing suspicion that the much-feared Conficker.c computer worm has taken its first victims.

Skepticism has arisen amongst claims of the worm's involvement. Many eyewitnesses liken the tragedy to that of a mail truck careening into a packed marketplace and crushing the victims, but numerous discrepancies between the reports leave most uncertain.

If you use Twitter and Gmail, now you can get a Twitter feed in an easy "reader" type format with Twittereader. Add in the Integrated Gmail addon for Firefox and you can add a custom, collapsable section to your gamil inbox that displays your friends' feeds and allows you to update your own Twitter status. I've been using that addon anyway, because I love having my Blogger, Calendar and Picasa all on my inbox page for easy access.

While cleaning the trash out of a pond in Beaulieu, Hants they fished out the remnants of an old Dalek. Was it left over from an earlier invasion of Earth, or just dumped from and old shooting of Doctor Who? We'll never know.

Tonight at 9:43 p.m. Central time, the comet Lulin will reach it's brightest and fastest apparent speed in the night sky. It will appear as a two-tailed comet with a greenish hue, near Saturn.

It should be visible all night, in both hemispheres, and if you miss it tonight there will be some other chances this week.
